Sunday Thoughts: The Book Of Mormon

I have always wanted to be a good mom.
I have always wanted to be a good wife.
I have always wanted to be an example.
I have always wanted to be a missionary.
I have always wanted to be righteous.
I have always wanted to be an avid scripture reader.
I have always wanted to write a book.
I have always wanted to be in shape.
I have always wanted to be happy.
I have always wanted to be a good housekeeper.
I have always wanted to serve the Lord.
I have always wanted to be WORTHY.

I think that I am learning what Elder Scott was trying to teach us. There is never some magical day when all of a sudden you are a grown-up, all of a sudden you feel smart, all of a sudden you are good with money or out of debt, all of a sudden you are healthy, all of a sudden you are a good wife or good mother, all of a sudden you know your scriptures, all of a sudden you have a sure faith......

These things are a process of living and doing and becoming EVERY DAY.

Scott (my super awesome husband) loves to say that:
People are constantly starting, but not consistently living.

This past month, sticking to my exercise plan despite the flu, a bladder infection and a cold has shown me that  I can choose each day what I want to become.

This past week, reading The Book Of Mormon and working towards my October goal, has shown me that  I can choose each day which Master I serve, which voice I will heed, and what I WILL become.

In a world full of quick fixes, instant results and I want it NOW...I am learning that every second counts. The choices that I make now...and now...and now...all matter.

Now is the time to change.
Now is the time to repent.
Now is the time to forgive.
Now is the time to grow.

NOW.

2 Nephi 31:20-21
"Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen."

I have a testimony of The Book Of Mormon. I know that it contains the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel closer to the Savior when I am learning, studying, and living his teachings.

I have always wanted to become worthy.

And I will become worthy by BEING Worthy TODAY.

I can so relate to this post. It's a hard lesson sometimes to realize that the becoming really is the now. I feel like I'm constantly reminding myself of that truth. Thanks for sharing- love your blog!
