17 Miracles Giveaway: You heard me right!

Have You Seen 17 Miracles?

It is a movie about one of the handcart companies as it traveled towards the Salt Lake Valley. I don't know if I can say enough good things about this movie. I first watched it with Scott and the next day I watched it with Kimm, Dylan and Kate.

I can't believe what amazing dialog it opened up between a 5 & 7 year-old and their mom.

The kids didn't understand why these people were going through so many struggles and why Heavenly Father wasn't helping them.

I was able to really dissect the movie with them and answer a lot of their questions and then they wanted to watch it again.

It is a powerful movie because the experiences are true. The Early Saints of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints overcame amazing obstacles in following their faith. I am humbled by their many sacrifices, even death, in the name of their Savior whom they loved so much.

Do you have your own copy? You can purchase one at Deseret Book. Christmas is coming shortly and I think that this would be an awesome Christmas present for any family. My family loved it.

And here is the good news:
I am giving away a FREE copy!!!

I also want to recommend this book.

Fire Of The Covenant is one of my favorite books about the Handcart companies. Please do me a favor and read it. I love the stories and the research that Gerald N. Lund put into writing it.

"The price we paid to become acquainted with God was a privilege to pay, and I am thankful that I was privileged to come in the Martin Handcart Company.'"

It is such a beautiful book.

Wednesday: Did You Know?

Did You Know...

1.  Elder Uchtdorf's talk during the Relief Society General Broadcast made me think about the night that I stayed up until 2:00am making a headband for Kate to wear on Easter Sunday. FOOLISH SACRIFICE! But darn cute!!!

2. Dylan started a small fire in our house last night. I probably shouldn't have assumed that he would know to put water in his CUP OF NOODLES before putting it in the microwave for 3 minutes. You should smell my house. I'm thinking I might need to buy a new one {HOUSE}.

3. Thirteen Years ago today I returned home from serving a Full-Time mission to Seattle, Washington. I really can't BELIEVE that it has been 13 years. THIRTEEN YEARS PEOPLE. I'm kind of old.

4. September visiting teaching = 100%. 1 month down...FOREVER TO GO.

5. Kimm came to visit this week. You might remember her from {Here} and {Here}. She is loved by everyone who knows her and I miss her. She lived with me for a year and a half and I keep begging her to move back to Blackfoot, ID. COME BACK KIMM!!!

6. Today Sawyer keeps telling me he wants to play BABY. so I wrap him up in a blanket and tell him to close his eyes. I slowly rock him back and forth and back and forth. He smiles. He kisses my chest. I think he misses being the only baby in the family. I still think of him as my baby. But there are Thomas The Tank Engine Undies and Lightning McQueen Undies in the mail as I type. So he isn't going to be my baby for much longer. He is going to be graduating to the TOILET!!! Wish me luck.

7. I took Dylan to get 5 warts removed today. OUCH. I could tell it was hurting him really bad, but he faced his fears and didn't cry, even though I could see those sweet tears welling up in his eyes. What a cute, WARTY kid.

8.  Scott works really hard. LIKE REALLY HARD. We participated in two parades this last month for ANYTIME FITNESS. {these might get their own post} Being a business owner is the perfect job for Scott, but it comes with a lot of HARD work and DEDICATION. There isn't a day that Scott leaves for work that I am not COMPLETELY grateful that I get to stay home with my children. We made a choice in the early years in our marriage that we would exercise our faith and ask the Lord to provide for us so that we could have a large family, and the Lord has kept his promises to us. Scott has done ALL he can to see that we are provided for and I am amazed at the energy and work ethic he has. I married a pretty AMAZING guy. {and SMART, and CUTE, and NINE! (this is how Sawyer says 'Nice'!) I love you ScottyBuns.

9. Wyatt is SLEEPING in a crib now. Like, FOR REAL. It is AWESOME. Something is so RIGHT about putting the boys to sleep together in their own little room. I can't believe it is actually working. One Week down.

10. Kate Started Dance this week and I am so excited for her. She gets to participate in the most amazing Dance program and she loves it. I am secretly trying not to live my dreams through her, but so far she likes it. A LOT.

Sunday Thoughts (And an invitation)

General Relief Society Broadcast

Every time General Conference starts to get close, I start to get so excited about the instruction that I am going to receive. I always wonder what I should do to prepare to get the most out of each of the messages. I've decided that attending the General Relief Society Broadcast with an open heart, is an amazing start.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

"For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened," (Matthew 7:7-8).

This plaque was displayed at our Relief Society dinner last night. It was made by my neighbor Linda Baldwin and I love the quote by Elder Uchtdorf:
"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before."
Is this NOT TRUE????

I think there are about a BILLION people on Pinterest alone that would fully support it!!!

"if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report, or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."

I was touched by the messages that were shared last night and left feeling a greater desire to Enjoy LIFE and to Just BE. HAPPY.

The Sweet Sabbath Day

This morning Dylan came upstairs just as Sawyer was waking up and Sawyer walked up to Dylan and sat down beside him and said, "Hi Di Di!" I couldn't help grabbing my camera and snapping of few of these two.

Church was wonderful today. I took all of your advice and woke up earlier and started the day off better. I felt the spirit in all of my meetings and enjoyed sitting next to Kimm who is visiting for a few days.

I hope you all have a great Sabbath day.

Prank of the YEAR!

Okay, so those of you who don't know Kimm, she is Scott's cousin and she lives with me. She has been known to like a good prank, but she is pretty hard to pull them on.

This is Kimm

Anyway, I have been dying to play this certain prank on Kimm, and today just turned out to be great timing.

I wanted to do in on April Fool's but never got around to it.

Toilet Prank: Okay so all you need is a toilet and these...

Make sure next year to buy extra pops because you can pull this prank any time and it is the best.

Okay, so find where the toilet seat meets the toilet and pile little pops underneath so that when someone sits down they explode!

So all day long I have been waiting for Kimm to get home from work and use her bathroom. Seriously I just kept checking on the toilet making sure that it was set up perfectly and dying of anticipation.

Finally, as Kimm was getting ready to go to the gym tonight, she put her water bottle on the table and turned around to go and use her bathroom.

I was already laughing when I heard the toilet seat flipped up and then I waited...

BOOM!!!!

I have never laughed so hard and I am still laughing. It sounded like the toilet exploded and then I hear Kimm start laughing so hard. She is such a good sport and thought that it was stinking hilarious, which it was.

Anyway, she totally thought that she cracked the toilet and that water was going to start squirting all over her.

My sides ache from laughing so hard...Please go try it on someone! Get back to me and tell me about it!

(1/2 Marathon report coming soon!)

Introducing Kimm Hanni!!!

The Peterson Family has a new member. I cannot tell you how excited I am to have Kimm living with us. Kimm is Scott's Cousin. She moved in with us about two weeks ago and it has been total bliss. I knew that I got lonely in Blackfoot, not having any family around...but I never realized how lonely until Kimm came. It is so fun having her here. I have to hope that I don't drive her nuts and talk her ears off! She has been working for Scott at the Anytime Fitness offices and I love it that they get to spend time together. They were roommates before Scott's mission and best friends. It is so fun to watch them bring up old funny memories. They bring out the best in each other. She is such a blessing! Hopefully she will stay for a while! Learn more about Kimm Here! And here is a picture of the three of us at our wedding reception. I am making an ugly face...as usual. How Fun!
